Arizona Gold - Mine Camp - Ball Mill - High Mountain Mine - Steep Shaft
This exploration starts with a visit to an old mining camp where there are several interesting pieces of equipment. There, we saw a nice ball mill, feeder belt, shaft bucket, and more. Next came a fun Jeep ride through a rugged wash and up a steep road where we parked after getting tired of bouncing around on the rough road. We continue on foot past an impressive road wall, high into the desert hills, to a box canyon where we arrive at a remote gold mine. While we were exploring the interesting underground workings, we came upon a hoist room and winze shaft. The shaft was quite steep, but we made our way down it with the use of a rope to a point where the shaft went almost vertical. The s...

Early 1900s Copper Mine and Mill In Nevada - Deep Shaft - Antique Lantern - Colorful Minerals
Просмотров 6 тыс.21 час назад
This rich copper bearing mineral vein is spectacular to see. The deep shaft here follows the vein down vertically a long way. During the years 1915 and 1916, the mine and mill were actively mining and processing copper ore, and in 1943, tungsten was mined here for the war effort. We descend down the shaft looking for drift levels and find a couple of interesting artifacts. We also explored the ...
Multi Level Vertical Shaft Explore - 1906 Fluorite, Gold, and Silver Mine
Просмотров 7 тыс.14 дней назад
Finding ore cars, a rock drill, purple colored drifts, and some other very unusual artifacts made this dangerous shaft descent worth it. We only made it down to the third level of this fourteen level mine before we turned back, but it was a good start and a tease of what might lie deeper into the mine. This Nevada fluorite, gold, and silver mine has 14 levels and is approximately 600 feet deep....

Просмотров 10 тыс.21 день назад
In this video, we visit an interesting mine in Nevada. It is a gold and silver mine that was first worked in the early 1900s and continued though 1935. There has been some more recent mining activity there since then. The winze shaft goes down approximately 150 feet with two drift levels. Down the winze, we found a homemade skip bucket, wood dynamite box, shovels and other tools. The top level ...
Death Valley Treasure: The Gold Mine With All The Artifacts

The challenging hike to this Death Valley mine is very scenic and a big part of the adventure. This abandoned gold mine has more artifacts than any we have ever seen. That's no surprise since making the hike to the mine is quite difficult. It's located high on a steep mountainside, and getting there involves climbing over 2000 feet up through a rugged canyon. When we started to get close to the...
Rhyolite, Nevada - Inside Bonanza Mountain - The Gibralter Mine

This early 1900s gold and silver mine lies at the base of scenic Bonanza Mountain in Rhyolite, Nevada. We entered the mine through a traditionally shaped portal to find an old wooden door laying on the floor. Just past that was a more modern steel door with a clever locking system on it. It happened to be unlocked, so we entered the adit. We explored several interesting drifts that followed min...
Four Level Vertical Shaft In The Champion Mine - Unique Artifacts - Tools- Colorful Minerals

For this explore, we hiked to the Champion Mine and went down the four level vertical shaft. After clearing away loose debris from the collar area, we had to rappel down the first part of the shaft because the man-way ladders were unusable due to being exposed to the weather. Once we got down about 40 feet, the ladders were in very good condition. This abandoned Nevada copper, gold, and silver ...

    • @TomandJulieMineExploring
      @TomandJulieMineExploring 15 часов назад

      Purple colored minerals are sometimes associated with fluorite, although I can't be sure what all is in this particular vein. It really is a spectacular quartz outcropping that is visible cutting across the countryside. 👍😊

    • @TomandJulieMineExploring
      @TomandJulieMineExploring 15 часов назад

      Hi Todd. In a remote location such as this, it's sometimes easier to haul up some processing equipment once, like the crusher and the engine to run it, to reduce the volume of ore that is continuously being trucked out daily. Why it all got left behind is another question. Thanks for the comment!😄

    Another interesting video from Tom and Julie. I would suppose that the various fires that had been started in the mine were not from some mindless vandal. They must be from individuals wishing to work the mine without the bother of bats flying about. I hope that the two of you are doing well.

      I'm glad that you found the video interesting. That is correct about these fires. They were made to kick the bats out. We've seen plenty of fires in mines that were made by vandals. @christopherjq7414 Hi Christopher. Generally, if you see an old piece of drill steel sticking up a foot or so from the floor of the mine, it is there as a stake to keep the air and water lines from interfering with the tracks. The tracks and pipes are often removed for reuse, but the stakes remain. The burros are fun to see, although I wish people wouldn't feed them. They get so tame that they stand in the middle of the road and stop traffic looking for a handout. Thanks for the comment!😁

      Hello Frank. The Jeep has hydraulic lifters, so no tappet adjustments. Hopefully, we can go back and see what's down the shaft. Thanks for the comment!😁

    Another great one, I liked the burrows. That was some awesome old equipment. I would have liked to see the bottom of that shaft. But I wouldn't want you to put yourself in any danger. Until next week be safe and bless you both.

    Hi Tom & Julie, I know you guys are not into the paranormal but at 14:59 I heard someone whisper "Hey", you will need your audio up with headphones from around 14:58 - 15:00 to catch the voice, it is just after you say "Well let's take a right". Oooh 2nd trip with more rope and harnesses ??? A very cool explore, I agree that shaft is very intriguing. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx 🥰

    Love seeing infrastructure inside a mine. Too bad some of the equipment wasn't still there. Who knows what lurks at the bottom of the winze? (I'll bet the Shadow does!) Way cool road wall. Thanks for the tour!

      Hi Lesley. Haha, only the Shadow knows. Those roadwalls always amaze me with the amount of work it took just to get to the mine. I'd like to know what down the shaft, too. Thanks for commenting!😁

    You could have taken that Ball Mill home as lawn art, Julie could have helped you load it in the back of the Jeep.

    Ah, I wanted to see how you were going to turn that thing around. LOL Definitely, a cool mind, and definitely an old gold mine, however. the question is, are you gonna go back? That road would probably be a stopper for me, unless I could rent me a helicopter, but that was definitely a cool mind and definitely one that's not visited very often. Thank. you know, this was a wonderful video.

      Well, turning around on these narrow mountain roads is always interesting. That's why we stopped in a wide spot as I had no idea what the road ahead was like. Glad that you enjoyed the video. Thanks for commenting!😁

    Should've left the Jeep and jumped on the burros, they looked like they were ready to be hired for some food and water. May have been a smoother ride!😂
